Mackerel is a delicious sea fish, with tender fatty meat, without small bones, but large ones are quite easily removed. The cold smoking method gives the natural taste of fish a very special and deep smokey note, and the meat literally melts in your mouth.
It can be served as a standalone dish, cut into slices, eaten traditionally with boiled potatoes. You can also use smoked mackerel for preparing various salads or snacks. Smoked fish pate is especially popular: it is easy to prepare, keeps well in the refrigerator, and sandwiches with it are beyond praise!
