The all-natural, light and airy Pastila
I am very happy to share with you the products of Belyov – a manufacturer with a tradition going back to the 19th century, and one that has been in my household for as long as I remember.
Belyov’s most famous product is their Pastila - a baked apple dessert originating from Russia. It may look like a cake at first glance, but it is produced in a very natural and organic way, without any flour or gluten.
That’s how it turns out to be super light and airy.
Pastila is made of only three ingredients. Apples, which have been baked in a wooden stove, egg whites, and sugar. And there is an even more healthy version - which we also stock - which has NO sugar added at all.
There is a wide range of different flavours, and we have most of them in store. There are various berries, cherry, cedar nut, honey, cinnamon, and of course the classic - with that pure taste of apple.
Thanks to apples being the main ingredient, the Pastila offers its own health benefits too. The high amount of pectin helps to eliminate toxins from the body, plus it has high Iron content.
Belyev makes some of our other favourite goodies too, of course. If you have a sweet tooth – and who doesn’t – it is definitely worth tasting their Zephyr, Smokva and Jellies.
